OIL ON CANVAS, 30 X 40 INCH, 2024
‘She sinks onto the ground, exhausted, barely feeling the heat from the crackling campfire. Her horse gently lays beside her, snuffling her face reassuringly. The town isn’t far, but she can’t ride anymore. She has barley made it out of this scrape alive. Her second heart works overtime to cope with the bloodloss. Gloom seeps in, and a single tear rolls slowly down her cheek Is this it for her?
The sound of hooves echo in the distance. She is flooded with relief. Help is finally on the way! Hope dawns as she wipes the tear from her cheek. No, this isn’t the end. She will get through this, stronger than ever. ‘
This painting was inspired by a ‘creative spread’ using the Cowgirls and Aliens Oracle cards.
I wanted to capture the feeling of being at the lowest point of your journey, when all hope is lost and you want to give up. This isn’t the end necessarily, but it sure feels like it right now.
