In this painting I wanted to explore the Alien Queen’s journey to greatness and show her fighting her way to the top. She had to outwit her opponents and survive multiple assassination attempts, fighting tooth and claw to achieve success. I have always wanted to do my version of the often painted story of Judith and Holofernes and so this painting was inspired by Artemisia Gentileschi.
