‘Stealthily hidden, she peers down into the camp. Her previous attempts to bring in this outlaw have ended in disaster, but she always patches herself up and tries again. This time will be different.
She sees movement in the camp. In a flash, the outlaw is on his horse and escaping again! She whistles for her horse, jumps on mid-gallop and speeds after him, gaining ground quickly. She has him now!’
The full title is ‘The Bounty Hunter Crossing the Desert’. This is my take on the painting by Jacques-Louis David, ‘Napoleon crossing the alps.’
